Director of Fund Development

The California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE) Board of Directors in conjunction with the Executive Director has established the function and office of the Director of Fund Development (DFD). While fundraising is the overall responsibility of the Board of Directors and President, it was deemed timely to CABE growth and equity building that fundraising and development take on the everyday leadership of a DFD. The DFD serves as the principal administrator for all development, philanthropy and donor relations activities of the organization. The DFD will report directly to the Executive Director and will provide a monthly report of all fundraising activities aligned with the strategic plan . The DFD also will attend and provide a written report at each meeting of the Board of Directors. By delegation from the Executive Director, the DFD will be a key member of the decision-making senior staff and be a member of the executive committee. To Apply:

2-Way CABE Executive Director

2-Way CABE, an affiliate of the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE) that works specifically with two-way bilingual (dual) immersion programs, is seeking a visionary leader to assume the position of Executive Director. The main responsibilities of the position are to initiate, carry out, manage and monitor 2-Way CABE operations and all educational projects and programs of the organization. The Executive Director reports directly to the 2-Way CABE Executive Board.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 negotiable
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in implementing 2-Way CABE Board of Directors educational policy and programs
Supervises and evaluates 2-Way CABE staff
Coordinates 2-Way CABE Conferences, institutes and other educational events
o Coordinates the review of TWBI educational proposals and call for presentations aligned with 2-Way CABE’s mission and vision
o Schedules workshops, institutes, and keynote speakers for 2-Way CABE Conferences
o Negotiates locations and other logistics
Acts as an educational liaison to CABE and other state and national associations
Represents 2-Way CABE in educational functions and other advocacy efforts as needed
Provides support on educational issues to other 2-Way CABE employees
Monitors content of educational materials of the 2-Way CABE webpage
Coordinates 2-Way CABE research and prepares summaries on current educational issues for wider dissemination
Works with 2-Way CABE Executive Board to plan and prepare for Board meetings and retreats
o Prepares reports for the 2-Way CABE Board
Other duties as assigned
Moderate travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or post graduate work in the field of two-way bilingual immersion education/bilingual education
BCLAD or equivalent teaching credential and five (5) years of experience in two-way bilingual immersion/bilingual education
Five (5) years of experience in conducting and/or planning professional development activities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with development of two-way bilingual immersion programs and educational materials
Leadership/management experience
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in grant writing and in other fundraising activities
Experience in interpreting educational research and either writing position papers or seeking experts to assist in this task
